SCOTSMAN ICE SYSTEMS TO INCREASE BRAND FOCUS WITH CREATION OF BRAND TEAM

The Scotsman marketing team has expanded scope of responsibilities for company’s line of world-class ice machines.

VERNON HILLS, Ill.—Scotsman Ice Systems, January 31, 2017, announced the creation of its Brand Team, dedicated to all aspects of marketing and customer engagement for its line of world-class ice machines.

The group, formerly charged with marketing communications, will continue to direct all internal and external company and product communications. There will be an increased responsibility for, and focus on, brand communication and evolution, channel-partner engagement, research and insight development and industry relations, as well as thought leadership content. The team will strive for a deepened focus on overall customer experience.

Meghan Daro, formerly the director of marketing communications for Scotsman, will lead the team as brand director. Daro joined Scotsman in 2013 and was instrumental in leading the successful launch of its MeridianTM line of ice-and-water dispensers, as well as enhancements to its patented Prodigy® line of smart ice machines. We look for her history of success, as well as her knowledge and experience, with Scotsman to continue in her leading of the Brand Team.

Brittany Jorgensen, who will support Daro, was promoted from marketing coordinator to brand specialist. Jorgensen has been with Scotsman since 2014; during her tenure, her responsibilities and capabilities have grown. In her newly expanded role, Jorgensen will continue to utilize her graphic design, social media and merchandising expertise to aide in the continued evolution of Scotsman’s brand message.

“We feel this shift from marketing communications responsibilities to more comprehensive brand leadership is a reflection of the way in which we believe leading brands should be managed and portrayed,” said Nick Mirkovich, vice president of sales and marketing for Scotsman. “Our Brand Team is responsible for a wide range of activities that support brand image and sales, which extend far beyond traditional communications efforts.
